The local health walks provide low intensity walks which are suitable for people of all abilities.  The walks are predominantly on flat ground with no styles to climb; the walks last for approximatley 1-1.5hrs and are no longer than 3 miles.

The walks are also suitable for people with a range of medical conditions which would benefit from increased physical acitivty levels.  Your walk leader will ensure you walk at a pace that suits you.

The walking groups are a great way to meet new friends and to discover the natural beauty of the areas we live in.

A walking for health group has been set up in Heanor. The main aim of the group is to encourage local walking as a cheap, convenient form of exercise whilst providing excellent social opportunities and the chance to discover the natural beauty found in and around Shipley Country Park.  Walks are short, ranging between 1.5 and 3 miles long. They are led by first aid trained walk leaders and walkers are able to walk at their own pace.
So, if you are looking for gentle exercise in a secure and friendly environment, come and give The Heanor Walking Group a try!!
