Join our Jog Into January beginner groups

Jog Derbyshire is once again running its popular Jog Into January campaign to encourage people who are inactive to take the first steps towards getting fitter by starting jogging.  From January 12th our qualified Jog Leaders will be running eight week jog/walk programmes across Derbyshire.  Our training plans are specially designed for complete beginners.

Longshaw Estate Trails

White East Lodge Longshaw Estate

Next run - Sunday 12 April 2015. Take to the trails with Jog Derbyshire and the National Trust around the Longshaw Estate, near Hathersage with it's backdrop of dramatic rugged moorland. Choose from a 3 mile or 1.6 mile route... no competition, no timing, just fun and friendly trail runs for all ages and abilities. Next run - Take to the Trails on Sunday 26 April 2015. Join us at Kedleston Hall between 9.00 and 9.30 every month for a trail run around the beautiful estate. Become a Jog Leader

If you are enthusiastic, supportive of beginners, have some running experience and a bit of free time, and are willing to complete a one-day course, then why not give it a go?


Derbyshire Dynamos - take the next step

Derbyshire Dynamos is a club run by Jog Leaders and our group joggers.  It's an optional ‘next step’ for those who wish to be more competitive, enter races and enjoy some of the benefits offered by other running clubs.  Being part of Jog Derbyshire's UKA affiliated running club comes with a host of benefits including discounted race entry and access to exclusive kit.  Find out more...

New Groups

New groups are starting every month.  To find out more please use our online group search.  Or why not set up your own group?  Jog Leader training is free. 

Spireites Jog Group based at the HUB, Pro-Act Stadium, Chesterfield have sessions designed for complete beginners on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6.30 pm.  Sessions include a warm-up, walk to jog programme and cool-down. Contact Jog Leader John Cannon 07902 249316 for details.

Join Hatton Beginners' Running Club on Mondays 5.30 pm and Tuesdays 9.15 am at Hatton Sports and Social Club. For anyone new to or returning to jogging, come and join our friendly group to improve your fitness and have fun. Looking to increase your distance? Morning RIOT (Running is our Therapy) is a small,friendly running group for anyone who is looking to do a 4 to 5 mile breakfast run. The group is about the distance and not the speed! Come along and give it a try! Meet Green Bank Leisure Centre, Swadlincote on Fridays at 7.15 am.
