Jog Derbyshire Dynamos Annual General Meeting

The first Jog Derbyshire Dynamos Running Club Annual General Meeting is taking place on Wednesday March 7 2012 at Alfreton Indoor Bowls Centre, Alfreton Leisure Centre.
The meeting is an opportunity to ask questions, discuss the future plans of the club and help decide whether or not the club should continue.

It is hoped at least two more members can be appointed to the club's committee.
The Dynamos Running Club was formed last summer following requests from Jog Derbyshire members for an affiliated running club. More than 40 members now take part in organised fun runs, races and other events throughout the region.

Until now Jog Derbyshire Leaders had to be at least 18 years old. In the New Year Jog Derbyshire will be launching the Future Leaders programme allowing anyone aged 16 or more to become an assistant leader. The Sport England “Sport Makers” programme will help young volunteers on the path to becoming a Jog Derbyshire leader allowing them to gain valuable experience before attending the Jog Leader course after turning 18.

2011 Jog Leader of the Year!

Congratulations to Martin Stephens. Martin has been leading the Melbourne Joggers for over 2 years and has in that time recruited mare than 60 beginner joggers. Martin has also recently launched a Nordic Walking group alongside his jogging sessions to enable people with very low fitness levels to be more active.

The judges felt that Martin went the extra mile supporting his joggers at events, providing books and other training guides as well as giving up lots of time to provide 1-1 support for some joggers whilst training for half marathons and 10k races.

Martin will receive a £100 voucher to spend at the Derby Runner. Click here to visit the Derby Runner website.

Once again most leaders received at least one nomination and we have received some fantastic testimonials which will be published here over the coming weeks.

Thank you to all our leaders for another brilliant year!
