Entry Fee:
£10.00 (Adult)
£5.00 (Child)
*NEW DATE* – Saturday 13 March 2010

You can now join in the fun of the Robin Hood Bike Ride today! It’s a great day out and offers something for everyone with a choice of two routes - the 36 mile Challenge route, off road in Sherwood Pines, then out along the Robin Hood Way through Sherwood Forrest and into Clumber Park, and then back to Sherwood Pines, exploring the stomping grounds of one of Britain’s best loved legends: or the 3 mile Family Scramble completing as many laps of Sherwood Pines as you like.

As the Bike Ride is a sponsored event we ask you to raise as much sponsorship money as you can as your hard-earned sponsorship will make a real difference to thousands of people living with heart disease.  There are some great prizes up for grabs too. Everyone who raises fifty pounds or more will be entered into a draw to win a fantastic Nintendo Wii, and the person who sends in the most sponsorship will win an experience to Go Ape in Sherwood Pines for four people!

Walk to Discover

Saturday 15 May to Sunday 23 May 2010

Enjoy the Border Country on foot, discovering the pretty village of Ashover, exploring the beautiful bluebell woods round Linacre Reservoirs and walking along the Chesterfield Canal, followed by a cruise back to town.

Take in some history as you follow in Elizabeth Shrewsbury’s footsteps around Hardwick Park, tour Sutton Scarsdale Hall or find out how Whittington is connected to the Revolution of 1688.  Search out wildlife on the guided bird walk round Ogston Reservoir or on a stroll through Pools Brook Country Park.

Celebrate Chesterfield’s twinning links with Darmstadt in Germany on the Grenzgang, which takes in English Beer from Brampton Brewery and German food.  Climb the Tower of the famous ‘Crooked Spire’ Church then pick up an audio trail from the Tourist Information Centre for a self-guided tour of Chesterfield.

If you’re looking for a challenge have a go at the Chesterfield Round Walk, a 34 mile trek through the countryside surrounding the town.  If that sounds too much, follow the route in 3 stages of 11-12 miles each on 3 different days.  Alternatively, get on your bike and follow the route along quiet roads, bridleways and greenways.

Yeomans Outdoor Leisure are the sponsors of the Walking Festival

Chatsworth 10k Race and Fun Run for Helen

Sunday 23rd May 2010

The prestigious Chatsworth estate for the third year running plays host to the Chatsworth 10k for Helen's Trust. The 2010 race is set to build on the success of previous years with a refreshed circular course taking in the fantastic views the Chatsworth estate has to offer

Starting in the picturesque deer park the route makes its way up past Chatsworth House towards the Grotto following a track though attractive woodland passing the idyllic Swiss Lake, the Hunting Tower and Stand Wood. The course then heads towards Dobb Edge before re-entering the deer park passing the Golden Gate entrance returning to the Start/Finish line completing the new circular route.

The 10k event will again be accompanied by a 3.5k fun run around the deer park and fancy dress is encouraged with prizes for the best turned out! We are looking forward to seeing families out in force supporting this event again in 2010.
